The Story of Hope
Hope Lutheran Church started as a mission church in 1993, first meeting in members’ homes and then at the Little Lambs Preschool location, transforming it from a school room into a place of worship each week.
In 1995 the members of Hope raised the money needed to purchase a piece of property, and began planning to build a church home. In 1996, having outgrown the Little Lambs location, Hope services were moved to the Atascadero Pavilion on the Lake.
Hope continued to grow, with its members serving the community of Atascadero and supporting ELCA organizations and relief efforts worldwide. In August 2003, we moved into our present church home on San Gabriel Road.
The mission of Hope Lutheran Church is to live in and proclaim Christ’s love through worship, faith formation, fellowship, and service to the community.
